A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.” ―Washington Irving
How true is that. Mothers are there the moment we are brought into existence, loving, caring and committing to us. They are one of the first faces to see us, it is a love, unconditional, at first sight. They helps to grow. They lets us stumble and sometimes fall and are there to let us know that falling ok…its the getting up that matters. They are, to quote the card from my son this Mother’s Day, the someone who puts up with us, who raises us right, who are our biggest fans, who cheer us up, who love and care, who know us in side and out and don’t let us do anything too stupid, who give us good advice (though we may not always take it), and who are there when we need them. They hurt with us, they laugh with us and they love with us.
Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, and to every mom.
