I’m not sure about your house but in mine, there is ALWAYS leftover spaghetti sauce whenever I make my famous homemade spaghetti. However, rarely do I have noodles. That leaves me with the dilemma of what to do with the sauce. Everyone loves pizza so perhaps my sauce dilemma could turn into another meal.
Crusty French bread seemed the perfect base. Topped with your favorite cheese, veggies and meat, it’s an awesome yummy easy to make dinner. Plus, it was a hit with everyone. Which in my book makes it a success!
1 loaf of fresh baked French bread
1 package of Hormel turkey pepperoni or pepperoni of your choice
Sliced black olives
Sliced Crimini mushrooms
Leftover spaghetti sauce
Putting It All Together:
- Preheat oven to broil.
- Slice French bread in to thin slices on the diagonal. Place on baking sheet.
- Spread leftover spaghetti sauce onto the French bread slices. Sprinkle pizza seasoning on top of sauce.
- Add cheese and additional toppings. Place in oven and cook until cheese is bubbly and slightly brown.
- Cool slightly and serve with salad, garlic bread or on its own.
