Perhaps it should say cheese? In this family we leave wine and cheese for Santa. What can I say, Santa needs a break from all that sugar and lactose. But tradition states Santa gets cookies. So you can’t have Christmas without a cookie plate, right?
With my Kate Spade inspired Christmas, that left me with a couple of options. Dots are what comes to mind with live colorfully but I also love the simplicity that comes with a simple palette. Gold it was.
Supplies Needed:
Simple White Plate – cookie size
Gold Paint Pen
Pencil
Putting It All Together:
I started by figuring out the design I wanted. I toyed with dots all over. Dots that smashed together. All sorts of different ideas. What I decided on was a simple corner dots pattern, a gold rim and cookies written across the bottom.
Once I had my design, I simply traced it out in pencil.
Then, it was a matter of filling in the pencil with gold paint pen and tracing the word cookie.
The last thing I did was trace the rim with the gold paint pen.
The total time involved was about 30 minutes. In fact, I did it while watching the movie Oz, the Great and Powerful. For a Kate Spade inspired Christmas cookie plate, I think it came out pretty well and it fits perfectly into my Kate Spade Live Colorfully themed Christmas décor. And by sticking with gold, I can use it for other future themes.
Until next post!
Love it!
