Sometimes you just need simple. And nothing is more simple in my mind than couscous. It cooks up in about 5 minutes. You can add almost anything to it and change it from a fun and friendly side to a main entrée in seconds. Its definitely a staple in my pantry…and probably should go on my emergency shelf.
So when… Continue reading
Okay…so I am late on my post. Yesterday was a special day for me. Santa came early and delivered a brand new Samsung Chef Collection refrigerator! Have you ever had a new fridge delivered when you already had another one in place? Any sympathy for me? I had two I had to deal with – one in the garage… Continue reading
I saw this dish in the Better Homes and Gardens Dinner on a Dollar magazine and just knew I had to give it a try. It looked so elegant and like something out of a Victorian novel when the ladies were getting together for tea. Then I went shopping and kid you not, each serving clocked in at less than… Continue reading
I happen to love Thai peanut sauce, especially on a barbeque spring roll. So when I saw this peanut-sauced veggies and noodles, I jumped all over it. I pretty much followed the recipe to the letter…and there are definitely some things I would change. Typically, I can say that the recipes I’ve tried out of the Better Homes and Gardens… Continue reading
I love a good taco. In fact, there is this little family run Mexican restaurant in my old stomping grounds where you can get the best street tacos for dirt cheap. I even love homemade tacos – crispy tacos. What I don’t like is the mess and the oil. When I ran across this beef taco pie recipe in the… Continue reading
I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of BLT sandwiches. All the mayo…not so yummy in my book. My mom and my husband. If it has bacon, then its all good. So I gave the Roasted BLT Salad in the Better Homes and Gardens Dinner on a Dollar magazine, I stopped to give it some pondering.… Continue reading
Fall is here and Halloween has passed. That means only one thing. Thanksgiving is on its way. I look forward to my cousin’s smoked turkey and the family’s cranberry relish and of course pumpkin pie. More importantly is family. Every year our family gathers together and celebrates together – stuffing ourselves with great food and good laughter. Each year I… Continue reading
Sometimes you just need something fast and yummy to serve. What’s nice about most of the meals presented in the Better Homes and Gardens Dinner on a Dollar magazine is that they are fast and easy prep. Even better is always the price. So number 33 caught my eye first by its name – Citrus Chicken and Grilled Corn –… Continue reading
I have to admit that while I am a huge seafood fan, I am not a fan of fish or shellfish tacos. But my boys are. So when I spotted shrimp tacos with lime slaw in the Better Homes and Garden Dinner on a Dollar magazine, I knew I needed to try it. As far recipes go, this one… Continue reading
I have to admit when I was looking into colleges, I really didn’t take advantage of college fairs. In hindsight I wish I had. College fairs are a wonderful resource for you and your child to gather information on prospective colleges you are already thinking about and some you may have never heard of.
What is a College Fair?
You… Continue reading
