I’ve always been a huge fan of using a humidifier in the winter months when the heat is pumping. As the outside temperatures drop, it becomes really dry inside the house. I find it’s incredibly helpful to use while I’m sleeping, and it keeps my skin from drying out too much which I love! I’ve also heard of people using them for allergies but that isn’t the reason I purchased mine.
This is a 100% unbiased review. I was not compensated or gifted any products for this review. I purchased it after doing my own research and I wanted to share my personal thoughts!

I’ve always used cool mist humidifiers in the past, but I recently decided to research evaporative humidifiers as an alternative. I wanted something that was quiet, effective, and wouldn’t make my floors all wet.
What is an evaporative humidifier?
Evaporative humidifiers are different than cool mist. They work by passing water through a filter and releasing the humidity into the room by means of evaporation with a small fan. So, you don’t have to worry about cool mist pumping into the air and soaking your floors. I also like how much cleaner evaporative humidifiers feel.
After doing extensive research, I finally decided to purchase the Pure Enrichment 4 Speed Evaporative Humidifier. And, I’m happy to report that it works great. After only running for a couple hours in a closed room, the humidity levels were much higher and more comfortable! At this point, I have been using this product for about three months now. I purchased it as soon as the temperatures began to drop.

Evaporative humidifier benefits
The biggest benefit to owning an evaporative humidifier is that it helps maintain the humidity level in your home, of course. The ideal range is 40-60% for a comfortable living environment. But, let’s talk about some of the other benefits of owning a humidifier.
- Less dry skin – This is a big one in the winter months! With a humid home, your skin will be less likely to dry and crack.
- Better sleep – I find that my sleep quality is a lot better with the humidifier running. No more dry sinuses and congestion in the middle of the night.
- Reduced allergy symptoms – I don’t have an issue with allergens, so I don’t notice this personally. But, it’s a big benefit for those who do.
- It’s good for your plants – If you happen to have any houseplants, they’ll appreciate the humidity boost as well.
- Less mess – I find that traditional mist humidifiers are pretty messy. They leave moisture and residue all over the floors. I like evaporative humidifiers because they don’t do this.

Pure Enrichment Evaporative Humidifier Cost
This humidifier currently retails around $80. If you’re interested in purchasing it, I suggest signing up for the Pure Enrichment mailing list and keeping an eye out for coupons. Amazon also has coupons for it on occasion. I think the price point is pretty good for the quality of the humidifier! I have seen some on the market that are much more expensive and not as effective.

Pure Enrichment Evaporative Humidifier Replacement Filter
There is a replacement filter for this humidifier available on the Pure Enrichment website. It is suggested that you change the filter once every 6 months. I would also change it sooner if you notice it begins to smell a little funky.
The filter does sell out frequently for some reason. So, if you’re purchasing the unit, you may want to just add a spare filter on as well – if they’re in stock! In fact, most negative reviews for this product revolve around the fact that the filter is always sold out. I don’t think that is a reason to tick off any stars for this product. Just prepare ahead of time and order a spare filter so you have it when you need it!

Pure Enrichment Evaporative Humidifier Cleaning
This unit is incredibly easy to clean. Some humidifiers have bulky parts that require all sorts of disassembly. I love how simple the humidifier is. I suggest wiping it down with a vinegar/water solution and then letting it air dry. I do this once a week to remove any build-up, funky smells, or residue.

Pure Enrichment Evaporative Humidifier Issues
I actually bought two of these humidifiers because I like it so much. The second unit I bought had an issue with one of the indicator lights staying on. I reached out to customer support and they got back to me immediately and resolved the issue. I was really impressed with their customer service team and how they handled the situation! So, even if you have a defective unit (which can happen with any product), you’re in good hands.
I’m really happy I chose this evaporative humidifier over some of the other options on the market today. It is worth noting that this company makes traditional cool-mist humidifiers, as well as air purifiers if that’s what you’re looking for. Based on how effective the product is at humidifying my dry room in the dead of winter, I would definitely trust some of their other products too.
If you have this humidifier or a competitors, let me know your thoughts. It wasn’t easy finding an appropriate evaporative humidifier for some reason (everyone seems to want cool-mist), but I’m happy I finally did!
